  • The staff was wonderful! Our 10 top sat down just before a tour bus arrived. The servers did an excellent job accommodating each table. The manager was very personable. The roast beef with potatoes and carrots was amazing!!! I enjoyed the homemade mushroom soup. My mother loved the homemade chicken noodle soup and fried cod. Salad bar was great. A little something for everyone, including breakfast for dinner, on the menu. Very reasonably priced. Our dinner was a great experience 😊😋🤗

  • If your in mackinaw city... skip the trendy restaurants and give George and his staff a chance.....1st night here went trendy.... expensive and very unimpressive..... tonight went to pancake chef....... had the buffet..... great food..... great staff.... very impressed.... we are here two more days and will definitely be back.

  • Great food, polite staff and great service! A little pricey, but the portions are generous. The dinner buffet is great with lots of choices. The grandkids always get the chocolate chip pancakes and say they are the best. Only thing we can't figure out is why they will not seat a party of 11 together. We always have to sit at two tables. Can't be a fire code, other restaurants in Mackinaw City always seat us at one big table, keeps the family together and after all, that's why we go on vacation together, to be together. We've eaten at this establishment probably 15-18 times over a 5 year period. Makes us a pretty reliable source for ratings. Infantryman!!!

  • I use to come here with my family when I was younger. It was amazing back then and I was so excited to bring my kids to show them what it was like. Well it wasn't what it was. The breakfast buffet was over priced, maybe saw our waiter 2 or 3 times, didn't get a refill on my drink until I was done with my food, and by the time my family was done eating, my parents finally got there food. Won't be coming back and won't tell anyone else to go check it out. I don't like giving bad reviews but I felt I had to say something.

  • Stand in line 30 minutes waiting for the dinner crowd at Dixie Saloon? Why? We walked 50 yards down the street, and found the Pancake House has a dinner buffet that is AMAZING. Everything tastes so good, and we had the restaurant almost to ourselves. There is a funny smell when we first walked in, maybe from the carpet? But after 30 seconds I didn't smell it anymore. The pot roast, trout, and chicken are very good. Not over seasoned, but not bland and tasteless. We were going to eat at the Dixie Saloon, which was uncomfortably packed and too noisy to think. This is a nice alternative.
