About Abbey Falls, Madikeri

‘Abbi’ means ‘waterfall’ in the local Coorgi language. Abbey falls are Coorg’s star attraction because of their joyous silver cascade that gushes down to about 70 feet below. The route to the falls is through beautiful coffee plantations and provides the perfect beginning to the beautiful sight that slowly unfolds in front of your eyes. Well maintained and extremely popular, these falls are a must visit in the monsoons. Feel gentle sprays splash across your face as you become a part of this glorious show of nature.

  • very scenic. but not so clean surrounding. you have to take stairs up and down to see the waterfall. so be prepared for a good walk. not at all suggested to people who have difficulty in walking (knee problems). because its basically walking the numerous stairs. the natural view compensated the efforts otherwise not much to see. people have made it very dirty.

  • To park the car it will easily take some 30-45mins (depends upon Rain and the day u go)... You need to walk or go through the steps for some distance and then u will find this waterfalls.. Its good place to see, but if its crowded then we cant even take proper pics of anything...

  • Go early in the morning! Otherwise, there's way too many people. Because of the rains, the waterfall looked very lively and beautiful. It is a 5 minute walk to reach the vantage point from the parking spot. We noticed less litter on the way because the steps cutting the forest to the waterfall has garbage bags lined across the entire way. It looks and sounds lovely. Great for a 10 minutes visit.

  • Nice water falls.but one can't access the waters. It's a short walk from parking lot. The falls is about 4 km diversion from the main road. Here maps work better than Google maps.

  • Splendid view of the waterfall!! But the bridge that was built for closer view of the waterfall has been closed. I would recommend to visit this place during the early morning hours it would be less crowded and can spend more time peacefully. Since it's heavily crowded during the weekends.
