About Raintree, Madikeri

Serving a fusion of international and local food, Raintree restaurant is set in a beautiful bungalow that is about a100 years old. You can sense the old world charm here, with the wooden furniture and sloping roofs that remind you of the colonial times. The food is some of the best you will taste in Madikeri. Their payassam and stew are quite popular and a must try. A cozy setting and warm smiles await you at Raintree.

They have an in house coffee shop where all types of coorgi coffees are displayed and can be bought too. The staff is very friendly & sometimes the Chef comes outside to have a chat with the customers.

  • Been to this restaurant when we had been to Madikeri. We had been there for dinner based on a recommendation from a person who stays in Madikeri. This place is pretty small but the ambiance is nice and refreshing. The food was very good. The staff were super friendly. Loved the desert that was made of coconut milk, its a must try for any one who visits this place.

  • Superb food, value for money. Each and every dish which we ordered was excellent. There is a charming person called Yogesh who is an excellent salesman. But he is helpful too explaining in details about any dish that you order. Taste their selection of wines which are excellent.

  • Ambience is pleasant. I wish if the food was similar when you take away.. But unfortunately, it's not.. Best thing you get is Good coffee.. almost 2 dollars per coffee is too much.. At least it relaxes.. Tried chicken, mutton and veg dishes with my crew and nothing was enjoyable..

  • Nice Ambience and great place to eat. There are very few restaurants in Madikeri/Coorg where you get good food and this being one of them. The place will be crowded most of the time and there is no system of reservation so you might need to wait before you get a table. I went in a group of 5 people. We loved the food but the coffee wasn't up to the mark. 4star for the food and the Ambience.

  • Ambience - nice.. A bungalow converted into restaurant. Taste - liked North Indian food.. taste can be a bit better though. Pricing - Moderate. There is a coffee shop in their premises which sells different types of beans and spices.
