About Raintree, Madikeri

Serving a fusion of international and local food, Raintree restaurant is set in a beautiful bungalow that is about a100 years old. You can sense the old world charm here, with the wooden furniture and sloping roofs that remind you of the colonial times. The food is some of the best you will taste in Madikeri. Their payassam and stew are quite popular and a must try. A cozy setting and warm smiles await you at Raintree.

They have an in house coffee shop where all types of coorgi coffees are displayed and can be bought too. The staff is very friendly & sometimes the Chef comes outside to have a chat with the customers.

  • Been to this restaurant when we had been to Madikeri. We had been there for dinner based on a recommendation from a person who stays in Madikeri. This place is pretty small but the ambiance is nice and refreshing. The food was very good. The staff were super friendly. Loved the desert that was made of coconut milk, its a must try for any one who visits this place.

  • We always go here when we are in Coorg because of their awesome food. The ambience and staff is a cut above the rest. Do visit! A special mention of their manager who is really helpful and nice.

  • None of the curries we ordered has the taste. The sweet dish we ordered was chilled and tasted like sweet ice. When asked, it was passed on us as authentic Coorg cuisine. Well..!!!

  • Went here during my visit to Coorg. They apparently have a chain of restaurants as well as coffee shops (Beans and Brews). The ambiance is very relaxing here. They have both indoors and outdoors seating, with facilities to sit a large group or a small one in fairly private settings. The menu is quite diverse with local as well as generic Indian cuisine. The taste is quite good as well.

  • Superb food, value for money. Each and every dish which we ordered was excellent. There is a charming person called Yogesh who is an excellent salesman. But he is helpful too explaining in details about any dish that you order. Taste their selection of wines which are excellent.
