Raintree - Review

Serving a fusion of international and local food, Raintree restaurant is set in a beautiful bungalow that is about a100 years old. You can sense the old world charm here, with the wooden furniture and sloping roofs that remind you of the colonial times. The food is some of the best you will taste in Madikeri. Their payassam and stew are quite popular and a must try. A cozy setting and warm smiles await you at Raintree.

They have an in house coffee shop where all types of coorgi coffees are displayed and can be bought too. The staff is very friendly & sometimes the Chef comes outside to have a chat with the customers.

  • One of the best places to have a casual lunch/dinner. The uncle who I think was the manager was so polite and humble and personally visited not only us but all the guests to ask if the food was good or they needed anything more. Good food quality and amazing experienc. Must visit. All the best !

  • Food is good. The menu is north Indian and Chinese ..with very limited traditional coorgi cuisine. Debit / Credit Cards are accepted which is a saving grace because very few places in Coorg accept Debit / Credit cards. Simple ambience. Courteous staff. Overall satisfactory.

  • It's a beautiful pleasant place.. perfect lighting for dining and lovely ambience.. the food n blend of spices, Mamamia..!!!.. & Value for money = 5 star..

  • Food is good but the service is very late. The bearer made us to wait for 10-15 mins just to get a table cleaned. The food ordered was on our table after 35 minutes. We ordered soup and some starters and this was a special restaurant which made us to eat the starters first and have soup later and that too got us a veg soup when we ordered for chicken soup. Visiting this place for dinner would be good if you would like to have good food but have patience to wait for order. Rated 2 because we missed to visit a place because of long delay of the order.

  • Anyone who wants to try local food should visit this place. Delicious food good service. The restaurant has various fruit wines which are pretty good.
