Surrounded by musical fountains and beautiful flowers, Raja’s seat is probably the prettiest man made landscape in the town. The garden is a glorious sight when the flowers are in season and in full bloom. It is said that the Kodavu kings loved to spend time at this spot with their wives. The toy train in the garden takes people around the park to enjoy the full view of the mountains.

Raja's Seat, Madikeri Reviews - Write a Review

  • Nice spot but very crowded. It seems like any random hilltop was selected in the town and a tourist place was created out of it by mowing the lawn, gardening and creating good infrastructure. But on the contrary it has its historical significance, so its justified i guess for me. Overall when there will be less crowd then it will be more enjoyable esp to enjoy dusk and dawn.

  • A place to connect to the nature. Jewel of mountains can be seen from here. A perfect place for nature lovers. Best time to visit is sunrise and sunset when the sun playing hide and seek with the clouds will be treat to the soul.... NB: towards the left of the Raja's seat take a short trek detour towards down from where sunrise and sunset can be viewed more beautifully

  • This is a scenic view point at Madikeri with nice valley views and a certain historic value, which is not explained in detail by the local signage. The entry fees are Rs. 5 per person and there is also a toy train ride outside the garden costing Rs. 20 per person. Just come here to enjoy the ambiance and street food, but don't expect to be blown away as it is an ordinary place.

  • This place is very well designed for tourists to spend quality time. Specially during the sun set time of the day. One can get an awesome view of the sunset at the right month of year. One will not regret visiting this place.

  • Beautiful location, well maintained garden, the toy train is not so great but works well with kids. not many options to try but scenic location makes up for it. Has good restaurant options nearby, less parking space but manageable on a normal day. Easy to reach.
