Raja's Seat - Review

Surrounded by musical fountains and beautiful flowers, Raja’s seat is probably the prettiest man made landscape in the town. The garden is a glorious sight when the flowers are in season and in full bloom. It is said that the Kodavu kings loved to spend time at this spot with their wives. The toy train in the garden takes people around the park to enjoy the full view of the mountains.

Raja's Seat, Madikeri Reviews

  • A place from.where you can see the entire city. The view from this place is stunning. It's named as Raja's seat because its said that the ruler of the province used to sit there and enjoy the beauty of the city. There is view point and a musical fountain. There is a old toy train near by. The place is neat and clean. Entry fee is Rs 5.

  • Stunning place in the evenings. I have visited during evening to see the sunset but unfortunately it was cloudy and raining so missed that. However this place is neatly maintained with a park and kind of a seat (after which it is named) to have a wonderful view from the hill top. At times you may feel the clouds crossing your body with ice cold breeze. An awesome experience and climate over there.

  • View point of the valley. You can enjoy the unique view while you are standing between the clouds. Everything will be plain white because of the clouds and they periodically clear out, that is when you will be able to see the amazing views . The enclosure itself is a small park with enough benches and rest areas. It also has a canteen, temple, toy train , children play area and washrooms within the complex. It is a good place to have some amazing of the valley.

  • Raja's seat means 'Seat of the kings'. This place is known as raja's seat because here the king used to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding areas. Timings: 5:30 am to 8pm(daily) Raja's seat entry fee: ₹5/person Just close by is Toy train ride. Entry fee: ₹20/person. During evenings(after the sunset), one can here enjoy musical fountain too. It is perfect setting to relax and admire the breathtaking view of the surrounding areas, Lush greenery with calm environment.

  • It's a serene park with a fantastic view from a height. Has a promenade. One can sit peacefully on the benches and enjoy the scenic view of the sky and beautiful mountains. You can even see the road with vehicles plying that appear really tiny from the height. Well maintained. Few stalls outside that sell coffee and homemade chocolate that you can buy as gifts for friends and relatives.
