The Royal Parish of Santiago and San Juan Bautista was built in the 19th century by architect Juan Antonio Cuervo. The neo-classical design and architecture gives the Parish its royal charm and the central dome magnifies its open space. The main alter accommodates the painting of Francisco Rizi representing Santiago Matamoros and is embellished with intricate ornamentation. Many other paintings and art pieces around the church adorn its walls and make for an immersive experience in itself.
