Palacio De Santa Cruz - Review
The Palacio de Santa Cruz also known as "Santa Cruz Palace " is another gorgeous heritage building of Madrid which is designed in the Italian and Roman influence of Baroque. The immediate purpose of the building after its built was its use as a jail, followed by a royal renovation which transformed it into the palace of the king of Spain King Philip IV, upon his descending the throne.
During the early 17th century, the various national architects of Spain such as Juan Gomez de Mora and Bartolome Hurtado Garcia undertook the preservation and further renovation of the building, and introduced newer sections into the building. The numerous transformations of the building and the changes in its purpose of service have made it a famous landmark featuring the heritage of Madrid. The Palacio de Santa Cruz is presently the administrative office of the Foreign Ministry of Spain, more widely known as the "Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de Espana".

Palacio De Santa Cruz, Madrid Reviews
Really clean, nice staff, and right in the city centre. Around 2 minutes from Sol station.
Free Wi-Fi, quiet, decently comfortable if small beds. The shutters needed a bit of figuring out. You have to pull them down physically with the door open while pulling and releasing the strap inside. Once closed they are very good at keeping the light out. No refrigerator and no real TV channels. Replacement towels daily. Let's be honest you don't want to stay in the hostal all day anyways. It's comfortable for sleeping and then you hit the town. Small shops directly outside are very good for quick bites to eat. The major shopping areas are a 25 minute walk but smaller shops are everywhere.
Very central and still quiet location. Quite nice for a such discounted price. Funny tiny shower room. Very friendly staff!
I have spend a week in this hostel: it is a really nice place to stay because itś near from the best place to visit in Madrid. It is located in the city center so it is near from everything : museums, bars, shopping avenues, nightclubs, etc. It is a cheap and perfect for young students. I would recommend for people who are looking for short time accommodation.
Céntrico. Habitación con baño privado aunque pequeño. Bien cuidado en los detalles, buena limpieza. Sencillo pero funcional. Volvería
