The Plaza Colon or Plaza de Colon is a memorial built in the honour of the great discoverer Christopher Columbus. It is a highly visited venue in Madrid and the building and the fountain it bears together are an international signature landmark for Madrid. The Plaza is square in its distributional shape. The enclosure is bounded on one side by the Mall named Paseo de la Castellana.

This zone of the Plaza de Colon bears the statue of Christopher Columbus standing upon a pinnacle, and pointing to the west. The Plaza de Colon is bound by the Serrano Street on the other side. The monument erected upon the Serrano side consists of large engravings and sculptures created by the artist Joaquin Vaquero Turcios. The monument also exhibits the usage of concrete blocks adorned with heritage engravings.
