Named after politician and orator José Canalejas, the Plaza de Canalejas (also known as four streets) is home to some of the most iconic buildings in central Madrid.
The Casa de Allende built in 1920 with a wooden Gazebo-style Cantabrian is one of the highlights of the Plaza. Other highlights include the Meneses building popular for its eclectic style and Santander Group building that is quiet a sight when the building is illuminated in the evenings.
The chocolate store called ‘Violeta’ is one of the places in the plaza that is a popular attraction.
