The life force Madrid flows through this square. Standing here is a bit like being stuck in a box – the surrounding red buildings on four sides are all uniform in height and looks. It’s been a significant place festivities, bull fights, royal coronations and executions throughout its history and even today is an important site for ceremony and public celebration. At the centre of the square, you can see a statue of King Philips III. The square has an insane number of cafes and restaurants. The people watching is enthralling. There are usually a great number of street performers here.
Considered as one of the most popular town squares in Rome, Piazza Navona is also a very picturesque and truly a photographer’s delight! The place allows you with some great photographic opportunities and has great historic statues gracing the street.
