The Basilica de San Miguel was the resting place of Italian composer Luigi Boccherini until 1927. Completed around the mid 18th century, the Basilica is loved for its façade and the statues by Roberto Michel and Nicolas Caresana that represent charity, faith, hope, and fortitude.
Highlights include:
- Cupola decorated with frescos (1745) depicting the apotheosis of Santos Justo y Pastor, made by Bartolome Rusca.
The grandeur of the place cannot be described but if you love art and architecture, there is no better example of 18th century art in the city like the interiors of the basilica.
