About Teatro Espanol, Madrid
Opened in the 16th century, the Teatro Espanol dates its roots to an open theatre during the medieval times that hosted many literature plays.
The building that stands today was built in the late 19th century in Neo-Classical style and overlooks the beautiful Plaza de Santa Ana. The theatre offers a platform for classic plays and remains to be one of the most respected stages in the city. Visitors love the experimental edge that is part of the classics while still cherishing the essence of the stories.

Teatro Espanol, Madrid Reviews - Write a Review
A stunning theater – four tiers high, with much of the higher floors and seating set close around the perimeter of the theater; each of the higher floors does not extend more than 4 rows deep, so the theater has a smaller, yet airy and open feeling to it, though still grand and lush in its interior décor. – A beautiful setting for any show!
Have something different
Thought we would check out some traditional spanish theater while in Madrid and we're glad we did. It was fun to watch and the service was great. Everyone was very nice and accommodating, especially since our spanish no es bueno. They worked with us to get what we needed and we had a great night out.
