With a collection of 40,000 species of shells from all around the world, the India Seashell Museum covers an area of 1 and a half acres. The museum is one of its kind in the country and the largest in the wold! The shell collection is neatly arranged with details of their sizes and the places where they are commonly found. Some specimens are cut to show the interiors morphology of the shells.

The virtual reality show is an amazing addition to this museum while the pearl section helps you learn about the formation of pearls, the difference between real and fake pearls along with their varieties and colours. Don’t forget to see the  miniatures of a ship, train, car and plane made entirely out of sea shells and oysters!

The place includes an aquarium where you can see colourful fishes swim around and a boutique called Maya Bazaar where you can buy pearl jewellery and unique items made exclusively from seashells and oysters.
