This Protestant church, at the beginning of the 20th century, was built to accommodate the increasing numbers of the Protestant community. Destroyed in World War II, it was rebuilt in the 1950s. It was built in the Italian High Renaissance style. Today the George serves not only the religious but also music lovers - the Bach and the Bach orchestra perform here. The highlights of the church is the massive dome which is 80 metres high and said to be one of the most beautiful in the city. From July – February, you may tour the tower for free; however, it is closed from March – June, as kestrels use the tower as their breeding grounds.
