Sudanese republic and Senegal became independent from France in 1960 and it is known as Mali or the Republic of Mali. Most universal Malian dish is rice with sauce. In the largest cities, decent western dishes are available easily. Good quality Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian foods can be found in Bamako.
