Of what is frequently termed as the “quintessential SoCal beach” the Point Dume State Beach and Preserve is a must for beach lovers. One of the bets nature’s wonders is what you get to see at this attraction, essentially a promontory. You can choose to walk around, swim, surf, just sit and be, and even hike up the buff and if you are lucky, get to watch a Hollywood film getting sot, perhaps. Since this is a California park administered by the local authorities, there are opening and closing hours applicable.

  • Love this place. Definitely a must visit if you are passing by this place on highway 1. Not much crowded, so you get some real good time with family. Lot of stairs to get to the beach and limited parking. I

  • Better than Malibu. Way less tourists on the beach, feels more secluded, and there is the Point Dume cliff that is a fun short hike that gives you awesome views. Definitely coming back. Parking is easy, close, and reasonable at about $7. No park entrance fee.

  • What a great destination! I stop here on most bike rides up the PCH just to take it all in and view the whales passing through. It provides great trails and has access to both sides (the rocky beach and Zuma beach). The cliff-face is also a blast to climb, and if you climb around the front there is a seal colony. I highly recommend exploring this point!

  • Easily my favorite beach. This is the beach you go to if you’d like a low key early morning weekend beach experience. This was so relaxing and my only issue is that I don’t live closer. I can’t wait to go back

  • Great place to get some fresh air as here are not crowded. You can get a peace of mind here while viewing the big open sea.
