Point Dume - Review
Of what is frequently termed as the “quintessential SoCal beach” the Point Dume State Beach and Preserve is a must for beach lovers. One of the bets nature’s wonders is what you get to see at this attraction, essentially a promontory. You can choose to walk around, swim, surf, just sit and be, and even hike up the buff and if you are lucky, get to watch a Hollywood film getting sot, perhaps. Since this is a California park administered by the local authorities, there are opening and closing hours applicable.

Point Dume, Malibu Reviews
Point Dume is one of my favorite places to visit anywhere. The panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean are magnificent. You can’t help but feel a sense of peace and calm on this hike. Just be aware that parking can be a bit of a challenge. There are 6 or 7 free parking spaces off of Cliffside Drive but those go fast. Another option is to pay for parking at Point Dume State Beach parking lot around the corner.
If you wanna stand over the ocean and really take it all in, then this is your spot! There’s no hidden beaches here just straight amazing views with a great beach. Pay to park and enjoy it! I’d say grab food before coming here or bring food. There’s some cool rock climbing that happens, so if you’re into that bring gear.
We went in late September and it was very pleasant. It wasn't super crowded and the beach was really fun. There is parking along the streets but we opted to pay $15 to park in a lot to not have to scurry to find a spot along the side of the road.
Beautiful scenery. Perfect place to take a hike and be one with your thoughts. Trail could be worked on just a bit more and the stairs that goes to the beach should be renovated, dangerous to walk down if not careful. Beware of where you park, triple check if its okay. I got a ticket when I parked, the officer told me it was okay to park and still manage to give me a ticket. Overall great hike.
Parking is a battleground! Be ready for all out war to find a spot. Also the parking attendants are swarming like sharks ready and more than willing top give anyone a ticket. The most unfriendly and unwelcoming beach I've been to. Once you find a spot its nice and relaxing but parking is hell.
