Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center - Review
The US Forest Service, National Park Service, Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Eastern Sierra Interpretive Center all contribute to the functioning of this tourist center. It’s definitely the very first thing you should check out before you head out on any activity around the region. Not only do you find a wonderful variety of resources - local books, guides, maps, gifts - the center is also the best place to get all your questions answered, get help with accommodations and tour bookings, get tips, and get permits. They are here to make sure your trip succeeds. Behind the center is the Pine Glen Group Campground; right in front you’ll find the Mammoth Mountain RV Park.

Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center, Mammoth Lakes Reviews
This is so overdue. Nikki, if you are reading this, please forgive us our procrastinating ways.... We stopped in to pick up souvenirs and learn what we could about hiking into Tuolemne from Mammoth. What we left with was so much more than we bargained for. The exceedingly knowledgeable yet very humble and personable Nikki did everything she could to provide us with every detail about all of our queries. She has first - hand knowledge of the area and what she shared I doubt we could find (easily, anyway) in any guide book. The rest of the Bureau was clean and organized well so that the souvenirs we sought were easily found. Prices were fair. We'll be back in the Spring for more back country adventures and hopefully Nikki will still be around to lend a guiding hand. Thanks so much for all of the information!!!!
Stopped in after over 4 hours driving. We were hoping to use the restroom but they closed early and there are no public restrooms to be used. So it's not a typical Welcome Center rest area. It was pretty dark out but we walked around hoping that the restaurants would be open. A little disappointing. It would be nice to have more lighting at night and then restrooms availability. Was not able to get any information whatsoever.
Amazing little visitor centre!! Plenty of resources about local activities and staff who are just as hype about where they live to tell you all the best spots to go!! Stocked on souvenirs, too. Exploring the area? Definitely stop in here.
This facility is helpful for anything you might need to know about the area. We have had valuable assistance in determining what hikes we could handle based on our ages and health concerns. The staff is courteous and helpful.
As a new visitor to Mammoth, I was able to get great information about OHV trails. There are lots of pamphlets and maps for other activities too. The employees were very helpful and friendly.
