Manali is a treat for the religious soul. The Hadimba Devi Temple or Hidibi Temple is one of the major religious sites in Manali. Another name for it is Dhungri temple. This very simply built temple is well known due to a strange geographical characteristic that the surrounding area has. A bird’s eye view of the temple will reveal that the area surrounding it is in the shape of the impression of a giant foot. The temple of her son Ghatotkach is also nearby.
This phenomenon is what increases the religious importance of the place. But the temple is not just for the religious. It may be simply built but it has beautifully carved wooden doors which enhance its simplicity. It is built almost like a pagoda with three roofs on top of each other. The temple is a religious site nestled in the midst of a beautiful green forest. It is a peaceful haven for the religious mind, the traveler as well as the nature lover.

Hadimba Temple, Manali Reviews - Write a Review
Beautiful temple with work on wood. Nice scenery all around. You can take pics with rabbits, they are way too cute!! You can also wear traditional dress and take pics. There are games like Archery and Pinball here. Adjacent to this temple is the Ghatotkach temple. A small market is also there selling all kinds of shawls, mufflers, stoles, caps, etc. in reasonable rates. I loved this place!
Very Calm and peaceful area.. It's at a walkable distance from Mall Road (if you are ok to walk ,) we visited this place at 9.30 in the evening that time the temple was closed.. so sat on the benches placed outside the temple.. again visited old Manali on next day for some purchase... You must be careful about the dogs roaming outside the temple.. You can see some photographers standing outside the temple gate with Yak and Chubby Bunnies. A must visit place.. Loved the atmosphere..
Beautiful place. Nothing much to see within temple, but very peaceful .Outside temple there are people who rent traditional attire for taking photographs and let you take pics with cute fluffy rabbits and yaks.
Surrounded by tall trees, this temple has an ancient kind of look. However, while entering the temple, you might get some kind of smell of the rabbits and yak’s poop!!! Nice place to visit and worship.
During our family tour to Manali in May 2014, we visited Hidimba Devi Temple. It stands nicely among the long aged pins trees. The temple complex is within the forest complex. The temple is made of wood entirely and gives a very ancient look and feel. There is a very beautiful serene surrounding.
