Hadimba Temple - Review

Manali is a treat for the religious soul. The Hadimba Devi Temple or Hidibi Temple is one of the major religious sites in Manali. Another name for it is Dhungri temple. This very simply built temple is well known due to a strange geographical characteristic that the surrounding area has. A bird’s eye view of the temple will reveal that the area surrounding it is in the shape of the impression of a giant foot. The temple of her son Ghatotkach is also nearby.

This phenomenon is what increases the religious importance of the place. But the temple is not just for the religious. It may be simply built but it has beautifully carved wooden doors which enhance its simplicity. It is built almost like a pagoda with three roofs on top of each other. The temple is a religious site nestled in the midst of a beautiful green forest. It is a peaceful haven for the religious mind, the traveler as well as the nature lover.

Hadimba Temple, Manali Reviews

  • I spotted Yaks for the first time in my life. So it was such a pleasure. Also there are so many lovely friendly dogs that are near the temple and are ready to play with you. Love the whole forest area around the temple. It was a great experience. There's toilet facility in the vicinity it's also closer to the IL Forno restaurant where you can sit and chill and have fresh apple juice from the orchards. Or have coffee and satiate your hunger pangs. Will recommend visiting here

  • Awesomely quiet place. No matter how much the crowd is there, the place in itself provide a calmness inside you. At the entry point you can see some local ladies wit their pet rabbits. You can click pictures with those super cute rabbits for 20 bucks. The temple premises looks like a nature park where you can enjoy the greenery and the flowers. You can also buy some cherries here. The water here is a treat to drink You wont get such water in cities. At the exit point you can take Yak rides for 100 bucks plus some dry fruit vendors are also there

  • A serenic place. Feels like heaven while walking among the pine forest. Small souvenir shops can be seen. Everywhere is like a painting. The temple is situated inside the pine forest. In winter heavy snowfall can be expected. It is possible to enter the temple. The temple is not vehicle accessible. So you have to walk from the parking area to reach the place

  • The place enhances your soul and spirituality to the deepest extent being in the city it is accessible easily. There can be long ques for visiting the inside but it's worth the wait. Calm Atmosphere except during peek season and the beautiful surroundings is pure bliss. A sense of Nirvana is achieved.

  • This is a great place. It is a great environment and one can experience devotional feel in the garden which is near temple. It is one of the best places in Manali to visit. Children will love the garden area of the temple. One should not miss this place. It is ideal for half day visit.
