About Hadimba Temple, Manali
Manali is a treat for the religious soul. The Hadimba Devi Temple or Hidibi Temple is one of the major religious sites in Manali. Another name for it is Dhungri temple. This very simply built temple is well known due to a strange geographical characteristic that the surrounding area has. A bird’s eye view of the temple will reveal that the area surrounding it is in the shape of the impression of a giant foot. The temple of her son Ghatotkach is also nearby.
This phenomenon is what increases the religious importance of the place. But the temple is not just for the religious. It may be simply built but it has beautifully carved wooden doors which enhance its simplicity. It is built almost like a pagoda with three roofs on top of each other. The temple is a religious site nestled in the midst of a beautiful green forest. It is a peaceful haven for the religious mind, the traveler as well as the nature lover.

Hadimba Temple, Manali Reviews
Old wooden temple, surrounded by forest of pine trees, scenery is quite good as well. Also, surrounding area is quite peaceful & clean, well maintained. Temple doors are made of carved wood. Good photography location, because of forest providing a good background. There are some more locations to see around as well. Overall, good place to visit.
The Hadimba temple was built in 1553, but the legend of this place dates back to the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The temple is constructed over a huge rock which is worshipped as a representation of Hidimba. The architecture of this temple is also unusual. It consists of four wooden storeys. The interior of the temple is maintained at its original earthen glory much in keeping with undisturbed natural beauty that surrounds the temple. The walls are decorated only with stone and mud impressions and figurines of goddesses and animals etc. The doors are made of intricately carved wood, and the roof is clad in metal.
Nice wooden architecture, fully made of wood from roofs to decor. Chimes made of wood is a wonder to watch. You can touch wooden chimes while standing in queue. Situated in a calm place.
Great temple. Surrounded with picturesque deodar/cedar trees. Consider the timing(mostly early mornings/late evenings) before visit as it is one of the most crowded place in town.
It's a old wooden temple, with the best surrounding. One can easily spend half a day near it, There is a lot to see around it, the pine tree forest is the best. One can click amazing photos over here, few small restaurants and some nice local shops are nearby, so can spend enough time easily.
