Mangalore celebrates many festivals like Aati Festival, Mangaluru Rathotsav, Mosaru Kudike- a part of Janmashtami celebrations, Monti Fest (Mother Mary’s Feast), Karavali Utsav, Kudlostava, etc with fervor and enthusiasm.
Yakshagana, an all night drama and dance event is a popular evening event patronized many. The Kudlostava and the Karavali Utsav feature dance performances, dramas and music recitals on the national level. The Karadi Vesha and Pilivesha dances are held during Dassara while the Catholic religious procession of the Eucharistic which is held on the first Sunday after the 1stday of the year sees many people attending.
