Panambur Beach, Mangaluru Reviews
This beach is on the shores of Arabian sea and is credited as one of the safest and best maintained beaches of India. It is the most popular, well connected and most visited beach of coastal Karnataka. The beach is located in the place called Panambur10 km north of the City center which comes under the administration of Mangalore City Corporation. As of now this beach is maintained by a private enterprise under the banner of "Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project". Other attractions include jet ski rides, boating, dolphin viewing, food stalls and is also known for its highly skilled and trained lifeguards who patrol the beach to ensure visitor safety. This beach has been popular for its picturesque sunsets, the beautiful port area and a picnic spot for tourists and locals alike and offers very good views of the sunset. The beach attracts good number of visitors due to its close proximity to the city. The ships anchored out in the sea waiting for berth in the harbor can be seen from the Beach which presents an attractive picture.
Nice beach. Good to visit along with family. Safe and lot of stalls. Evening time is very good and good to see the sunset. But peace lovers might be a little bit disappointed because it is crowded most of the times. But it has lost its charm compared to the days when i was a kid 18-2 years from now and used to go to the beach with my family. Still its a good hangout place.
Known for its cleanliness and safety, this is the city’s most visited beach. The beach aura warms up during the carnivals, organized by the district authorities. The festivities include boat races, beach sports and sand sculpture contests. Besides, the kite festival, organized every year, attracts participants from across the country and also abroad during the International Kite Festival held every 2 years at here at Panambur Beach Mangalore. In a first of its kind initiative in the country, the beach is completely run and maintained by a private enterprise, the Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project to ensure that the beach is maintained, clean and safe so as to attract visitors in large numbers and create awareness among the public about the need to keep our beaches clean so as to preserve our nature and maintain ecological balance. Due to the good maintenance of the beach by Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project, Panambur Beach has been awarded as one of the cleanest & best maintained Beaches in the country
One of the popular beaches in Mangalore. It will be crowded during weekends and public holidays. Amenities are very poor. They did build lot of changing rooms. But all that you can find inside those changing rooms are beer bottles and stagnant urine. they got no door either. Good beach. You can enjoy horse ride, camel ride, boating and all.
Visited during evening, it is a clean beach. However one has to only enjoy the cool breeze & Sun set from a distance since sea is rough & barricaded, no one is allowed to enter the sea. Couple of small shops selling snacks etc. are available in the beach, not much activity. The beach is adjacent to Port & several other cement factories (going by the name of the Company) & hence the entry road to sea is bad & dusty. No Radio cab wanted to accept the booking & either asked for double fare or cancelled the booking, hence one has to depend on auto or bus. Overall nothing much to enjoy barring seeing the sea from a distance.
