The Pilikula Nisargadhama is a huge eco-educational and tourism project under the supervision of the Dakshin kannada and is promoted by them in the city of Mangalore in Karnataka. It is an integrated theme park with wide range of features including educational and sports and entertainment. There is also a tropical forest, boating facilities, waterpark, biological-park, science center, golf course and a lot more. The other main attractions are the heritage village and the ayurvedic therapy center.

The heritage village model set up here is an example of the rich tradition of the artisans of Kannada which include pottery, handloom, cane and bamboo products, carpentry, Blacksmiths, wood carving, stone carving, toddy jiggery, oil processing, beaten rice, fish net weaving and jasmine culture. The village also has conserved places that were there during the old times when these works used to be the only profession of the people.

  • The whole place is pretty good. The zoo itself is average. I liked the planetarium most. Science park is good if you go in the evening. Gets pretty hot during the day as it is in the open. The house is very good but bit far. Need to have your own car or need to hire an auto.

  • Pilikula biological park is a good place for hanging out with friends and family. An only zoo in Mangalore. It is well maintained. Good for kids. There are many types of birds, lions, tigers, leopards and many more. And different types of snakes are also there.

  • Great place to spend a day. Nearby Science Museum, beautiful lake are there. Have your own vehicle to reach there. Enough space for animals to roam. Its not like any other zoo.. You feel you are in middle of forest

  • I am satisfied with the animals and birds inside the park... The main thing the space and atmosphere they given to wild animals is really good and we can see the health conditions from the caring itself... Especially leopard, lions, tigers, deers, beers all are in good condition via health wise. Need to make more spaces for birds section and also need cleaning for both snakes and birds section.. Cool place for taking families and for school students..

  • Nice and calm place, it is really really huge. The biological zoo has leopards, tigers and lions too. It is being expanded with addition of many more animals to the zoo. There is a science park and a planetarium. Boating area is quite small. There is an water park too. Overall the entire place is maintained really well.
