Seemed like it could be a cool museum.. When we went there were only 2 exhibits open. The art that was there was pretty good! Hope to see more on our return home.
A very interesting place to visit. It is both a place of history and art. I would love to visit over and over again.
I didn't expect Philippines has such a great contemporary art museum, and it's only 100 pesos for ticket! If you are a fine art lover, it's a must-go and you can really spend a whole day here! Every painting there is worth seeing, some are masterpieces. They allow taking pictures on the lower ground but not on the upper ground. The basement was closed for now though I heard it was opened earlier. I'm so glad to have visited here. I'd love to go again next time I visit the city. Just to mention, ignore the bag-checking policeman if he asks you to take off everything including your camera, because taking pictures at ground floor is allowed as the museum staff said. I looked like a fool putting down the camera and taking it back upon truly being informed. And don't leave everything at the deposit area upon the request of the policeman since you would need to pay that 100 pesos inside. Again I looked like a fool putting down everything as the policeman asked and only to know I have to get back to take out cash to pay the entrance fee later. Clearly they should improve the procedure for a national class museum like that.
Aye, twas a grand daddy meself and Ana had in here looking at all the lovely pictures and reading all the wee cards. Head in yourselves there and do the same. You'll want about 3 or 4 hours to see everything. Don't forget the gift shop. It's shyte but good craic all the same
This is one of my favorite galleries in the world. The exhibits are always some of the best stuff in the Philippine art scene. I met Joey Pepe Smith here, and visionary artist Lirio Salvador, who brought me in contact with the Espasyo Siningdikato arts community of Dasmariñas, Cavite, which changed the trajectory of my own artistic development...
