There is literally only one reason people come to Maranello - Ferraris. There are two main attractions - the Ferrari Museum and the Ferrari Factory. The museum is mostly just eye candy, though there is a nice exhibit on the history of the cars, some simulators, themes and themes exhibitions. The exclusive Factory and Track tour via shuttle-bus, purchased from and in combination with the Museum, is what everyone really wants though. Unfortunately, tours are limited and must be booked well in advance.
There are also a lot of car rental companies renting, you guessed it, Ferraris. You can take these babies for a spin on both the track and on the road, depending on which package you buy.
For the rest of the city, you'd think there isn't much to see. And there isn't. But boy is there a LOT to eat. For some reason the restaurants in their town are ridiculously great. They scrimp on nothing - food, service, presentation, location. If it wasn't for the presence of the Ferrari, one could come to Maranello with no other intention than to eat.

This museum is a mecca for Ferrari fans. It's not all drooling at eye candy on wheels, though there is plenty of that, with iconic road and cars from the company's history located everywhere. The permanent exhibition focuses on the history of Formula 1 and the World Championship, where you can understand how a driver thinks during a race. A theatre shows loops of films covering various themes. There is a F1 simulator that is fun. You can get a picture clicked of yourself inside a car for a souvenir, though there's an extra charge for that.. A popular hands on exhibit invites you to participate in a hurried pit stop style tyre change. And you should also check out the themed cafe. Check the attraction website for current and upcoming special exhibits.
Many visitors combine their visit to this museum with the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena, with a combination ticket. Purchasers of the Museum+Track ticket get a special a 15-minute track session at the Autodrome in Modena. There's also a special, limited Factory+Track sightseeing tour, which must be reserved in advance from the Museum.

So this tour is available only for those who have bought tickets to the main museum. The only other people who can tour the factory are Ferrari clients and official sponsors. From the museum, you'll be loaded onto a shuttle bus that will take you to the nearby factory premises. You're not allowed to leave the shuttle bus at any time. The bus will take you to the historical buildings and areas, and to the Fiorano Track, where the newly made cars are tested for their worthiness.
