Oh, this is one of the world’s crazier bridges. It’s basically just this long and beautiful stretch of road between the Keys, a thin razor of a path that makes for absolutely stunning driving. There’s an island on the middle of the bridge, the Pigeon Key, and from it, the old Seven Mile Bridge stretches for some 2.2 mile of pedestrian / cycling goodness. Every April, on a random Saturday, the city closes the bridge for a few hours so that a marathon can be run across it – it’s loads of fun. The run allows only a limited number of people, so start sniffing around online to book your place in December or January. It varies. Those interested in the architecture and the history of the bridge can heck out the attraction’s website. All we really have to say is- do not miss catching a sunset from this bridge coz that memory will stay with you forever.
