The Lakeside Daisy State Nature Preserve is a lovely nature preserve located right off the shore of Lake Erie. Situated on the Marblehead Peninsula, the 19 acres of old limestone quarried land was established to protect the population of the Lakeside Daisy, a threatened plant species. These Ohio's most spectacular wildflowers bloom early to mid-May. This state preserve was named in honor of Colleen Taylor and Ruth Fiscuss.
Lakeside Daisy State Nature Preserve Reviews & Ratings
I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this place with a friend at the very time these rare and threatened daisies were blooming. A beautiful park dedicated to the preservation of these flowers. We walked the park, sat and enjoyed the beauty and watched an eagle's nest in the background of the preserve. The geological story of these flowers is fascinating. I loved it here!!
Love this spot. The wife & I go every mid May to check them out. It's so cool that this & one spot across the lake are the only places in the world they grow.
Peaceful, tranquil, beautiful! You have to check it out!
Beautiful views and very educational
Great little drive to go see the daisy bloom.
