The Mangesh Temple, a shrine to the Manguesh form of Lord Shiva, is 450 years old. The Manguesh Linga was originally located in Cortalim on the banks of river Aghanashini, but due to Portuguese invasion, it was shifted to Mardol for its safety. This exquisite temple is simple yet very elegant, and attracts large crowds everyday. Pujas are performed frequently here, at the least three times a day. The Sabha Griha, or the assembly hall can accommodate 500 devotees at a time. In addition to this, it has idols of several other gods and goddesses- Parvati, Ganesha, Virbhadra , Nandikeshwar, Gajana, Bhagavati and a marvelous 7-storeyed lamp stand.
