One of the most important places to visit on your trip to Marrakesh is the Mosquee De La Koutoubia. The largest mosque in Morocco, the Mosquee De La Koutoubia, or the Koutoubia Mosque as it is more popularly known, was built in the twelfth century and is a major landmark. The elegant Koutoubia Mosque is built from bricks and sandstone and is a tall structure with a minaret tower on its top. You can see the minaret even from a distance but a closer look will let you explore the stunning architectural elements of the Mosque. The Mosque also includes a massive courtyard as part of its premises which is the site of prayers.
