Dayton Bluffs Preserve Reviews & Ratings

  • This is a great find for nature lovers who want a quieter choice than Starved Rock. The Fox river-front property is traversed by deep ravines and native forests carpeted with multicolored wildflowers in the Spring. I like to go in the winter, when you can really appreciate the varied topography. Huge thanks to Brook MacDonald and the Conservation Foundation for their vision and hard work!

  • LOVE this place. My new favorite hiking haunt. Hidden gem.

  • Dayton Bluffs is pristine natural woods and prarie. Include a hidden pond and easy access to the bank of the Fox River. The parking lot is usually empty. A nature lovers dream.

  • Great layout but wish that the trails were clear and mowed. Will come out another time.

  • The entrance is a little wonky, I thought I was driving into someone's farm field. So beautiful and much bigger than I expected!
