This ancient twelfth-century castle looks like something straight out of fantasy books. Dominated by shades of pink and golden, the castle looks intriguing at the first glance. Gardens and forest area around the castle provide a beautiful backdrop. This monument has witnessed a very turbulent history and has been passed from hands to hands. This resulted in the loss of numerous significant artefacts. But, the government has now restored the whole place. They have succeeded in maintaining the old charm of the castle. Take a guided tour and be fascinated by interesting history that unfolded here.

  • A typical Cinderella castle! Perfect for wedding pictures. But it has also a lot of history. Really good guide throughout the whole castle. Get yourself a map and go exploring!

  • Marvelous castle with a great audio your. We spent a few hours walking through the rooms and each room had quite a detailed backstory. There is also the possibility to take an underground tour, which we skipped because there were only polish language guides. Dress warm as it can be cold underground.

  • Beautiful place full of history and secrets. Fantastic tour in WWII era tunnels. After paying for tickets you still have to pay for toilets (Toilets inside castle are free of charge) and they look like no one have cleaned them for a while. Fantastic views from viewing point and beautiful walks in surrounding park. You can easily spend there whole day if weather is nice. Make sure you have appropriate clothing if going to visit underground tunnels- it's chilly and wet there ( tour takes around 45minutes). I would like to visit Książ again and explore surrounding park more (it must look gorgeous in autumn!). Gardens and terraces looked fabulous!

  • Probably the best castle I've visited so far. And definitely my favorite. Gorgeous location and I love the garden - so beautiful, so well kept. Took the train from Wroclaw and a bus #8 fro Walbrzych to get there.

  • If you are thinking about celebrating the most important day in your life here, DON'T! We had a confirmed appointment to discuss the wedding of my sister and they knew we'd come all the way from the Netherlands and Austria and forgot about it. Their behavior showed us that they really do not care to please customers (and make money - we communicated our budget of 30k EUR and they couldn't care less). If this is the level of friendliness and service they also provide during a wedding or any other event, then for sure this will be an unforgettable experience - a terrible one! Not sure if the management is aware of this, if not then hope they read this now. In case this is company policy, then I guess Poland is still far behind compared to the western standards.
