Sri Lanka is home to many beautiful Buddhist temples. One of these is Weherahena Poorwarama Rajamaha Viharaya. The temple was built by Anagarika Dharmapala. This huge temple is located on a 3-acre land and is visited by many tourists. The temple is famous for its sacred Bo-tree and a huge Buddha statue. Apart from this, the temple also has a tunnel that features the life of Buddha (Jathaka stories) with the help of frescoes. There are two small ponds at the front part of the temple. Besides, you will also see a courtyard near the statue. This Buddhist temple has a great significance in the followers of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
