Matlacha Pass National Wildlife Refuge in U.S. is a small island. Located near to Charlotte Harbour, this island is built in order to preserve the breeding of native birds. This wildlife refuge was generally started in the year 1908 with two small islands, and later on more islands were added with it. The other islands added with Matlacha Pass National Wildlife Refuge are used plantation of mangroves, vegetables, upland sand ridges etc. The refuge also provides benefits some of rare and endangered species, such as wood stocks, bald eagle, sea turtles etc.

It is not a tour and the charges are USD 1 per person or USD 5 per car. Even though it is closed only on Fridays, timings may change on other days. As it is operated by J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, it would be better to call them on 239-472-1100 for confirming.Report Abuse
