Hawaiian Paddle Sports - Review

Hawaiian Paddle Sports basically provides sustainable and authentic eco-tours that help you connect deeply with the Hawaiian marine life. As they are a small company, they boast of providing you with an authentic, unique and intimate experience with Maui and the ocean. They promise to keep you away from “Maui Surf Schools” in Lahaina, Kihei Kaanapali to a more unexplored location where the instructors actually teach you how to surf. You can explore Kayaking in Maui through their tours, Stand up Paddle Boarding, Outrigger Canoe scenic mountain and Whale Watching Tours. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Maui Itinerary 2 Days.

  • Our family did the South Maui Turtle town snorkel and kayak tour this morning with John and had a fantastic time. We considered ourselves very fortunate to have seen 6 beautiful green turtles, so many beautiful fish and marine creatures, and the coral was amazing. What made our tour though was our guide. John was so friendly welcoming and personable, had an extensive knowledge of everything we were seeing, and also shared with us lots of Hawaiian history and culture. Not sure about what is offered by other tour companies but we have also just received an email link to a whole stack of great photos that John took for us while we were out... at no extra cost. I would highly recommend this tour. Do it!!

  • This was the highlight of our ten day Hawaii trip and it was because of John. He is a wealth of knowledge and positivity. We learned so much about Hawaiian culture, how to properly kayak, how to snorkel, and to do these things with ease. It was worth every penny to have a private trip and it totally made my day that John took all the pictures (included in fee) and sent us the photos within hours of our trip. We have pictures of the turtles, sting ray and various fish to enjoy forever. Oh yes, and he knew all about white water rafting, which is our next adventure! He is super helpful and I was smiling for days after!

  • Curtis was an AMAZING guide. He gave my wife and I a private tour and we could not have asked for a better experience. We saw eels, octopus, all sorts of fish, as well as 4 different turtles. He was very personable while taking great care of us and capturing some great pictures. Would recommend if your visiting to ask for Curtis we couldn’t have had a better experience.

  • My 2 kids and I went Kayaking and Snorkeling with Curtis, had an amazing experience. He started with some foundational information and pictures of the creatures we may encounter and through out the trip as we encountered something new - connected to the earlier discussion. He showed us great spots with lots of turtles, beautiful fish, corals. Curtis does a great job engaging both kids and adults, he is highly knowledgeable of the marine life, an excellent photographer and diver. He took lots of high quality pictures. Will be sure to contact Hawaiian Paddle Sports and Curtis when we are back in Maui and ready for another adventure.

  • My friend and I went on a private tour this week with Emily and it was so awesome! We saw so many turtles at the ‘cleaning station’, lots of beautiful fish plus I kayaked for the second time ever even successfully getting back on the kayak after snorkeling! If you get a chance to do this tour I highly recommend doing it and ask for Emily... she was great!
