It is located exactly at Mile number 9 on Hana Highway which is highway no 36.Apart from being a beautiful white sand beach, it also has some of the best waves on the whole coastline of Maui. Hookipa Beach Park, Maui Reviews

  • This beach is a great family beach. It has sea turtles sunning themselves at most hours of the day. There's quite a bit of parking but it can fill up quick. There are restrooms and covered areas to sit as well. The waves here are great for surfing and there's nice rocks that break up the waves and create a little place for kids to swim. One of our favorite beaches we went to.

  • Best beach on Maui, world renowned for windsurfing and surfing but also if you want to see turtles in there natural habitat they come by the hundred. Excellent place with plenty of parking on the hill. Just be mindful of the one way system in and out as it's not so well signposted.

  • Great place for snorkeling and to catch sea turtles swimming and sunning themselves during the afternoon around 3pm. Came by and saw sea turtles of all sizes going onto the beach to warm up and several more swimming in the shallow corals. Don't get close to disturb them and there are ppl around to monitor that as well but you can definitely enjoy them from about 25 feet.

  • Great place for surfers. Snorkel if you're a strong swimmmer, like the signs around Maui say... "When in doubt, don't go out". The park has restroom & showers. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of the day.

  • There are nice views from the beach park. I didn't realize, but apparently if you ignore the signs and walk down the path to the shoreline, there may be some interesting sea creatures to observe. There are some craft vendors here during the day. There are also several port-o-potty's in various states of cleanliness. I was very glad they were there, but I wouldn't say they were clean. There does seem to be plenty of parking. To continue left onto the Hana Highway on the way out is a bit treacherous, so be forewarned.
