  • Turtles galore! The turtles come out a little before sunset and stay all night to sleep. They are so cute, must've been over 30 at least. You can get pretty close, about 20 ft away, close enough to see their little eyes closed. Don't touch the turtles though or else you'll be fined $50,000

  • Best surfing beach! We stopped here whenever we drove up this area. The professional level surfers give you the best performance you could imagine. Free show guys. Come and enjoy!

  • Best place to see a bunch of turtles sleeping. 5:30-7pm is a great time to see them this time of year. They make the island so beautiful. Please remember to respect them and their space and their sleep. It really is a privilege to be able to see this many all in one place. It's magical.

  • It seems like this beach is patronized by some local bully characters who basically take over the beach and harass people. We are a family of South Asians with 3 small kids. We stopped at this beach last week to catch some good views. We did not plan to stay for long. We came down the one way entrance and tried to take an open parking spot. There were two guys sitting in the open trunk of a grey Nissan pathfinder in the next stall who tried to shun us away. May be they were trying to hold the spot for their friend. Regardless, I took the spot. As we were getting out of the car they started yelling and cursing and started spewing out racial slurs. A bunch of people came to join them and started hurling racial slurs from the park. My kids were terrified. I called the police. Police came, took the statements and said they will escort us and watch our car for as long as we wanted to stay. I made sure a police report was filed. We stayed for a few minutes then left. I just want to be clear this is not a typical Maui reception we got on the island in general. Everyone else was pleasant, hospitable and friendly. We just ran into some third rate bullies on this one beach. I don't think they were even racist deep inside. They were just scrambling to hurl anything at us that came to their mind. Hopefully, my calling the cops taught them enough of a lesson to not do it again. Go to this particular beach knowing that you might run into characters like this. Be prepared to confront them and put them in their place.

  • The park was very impressive. You get an amazing view of the water and beach. We saw around 30 sea turtles chilling on the sand, almost mistook them for rocks at first. Lots of people there, however not overly difficult to find parking. Very convenient steps leading down to the beach. Huge rolling waves, quite a few surfers were out enjoying the waves. There was an outside rince station, bathrooms with running water, and covered picnic tables. Worth checking out!
