Overview of Parque Tematico Hacienda Napoles

Hacienda Nápoles which means “Naples Estate”, is a luxurious estate built by the famous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. This huge estate came under the maintenance of the government in 1993 after his death. Parts of the estate including some complexes and buildings were remodeled for other purposes. While the property used to include a small zoo with exotic animals like giraffes, antelopes, ostriches and hippopotamuses, after his death, the government rehabilitated the animals in Colombian and other international zoos. A huge collection of antique cars and bikes was also part of this extravagance. Today, the property is getting remodelled to make an amusement park. While there, make sure you notice the replica of Piper PA-18 Super Cub, the airplane that transported Pablo Escobar’s first shipment to the United States, mounted at the entrance gate.
