Went there for Karaoke with my wife, another couple and one other lady friend. Apart from ourselves there didn't seem to be others. A bit quiet I would say but no complaints about the service.
The moment I entered the hotel, there was no one to help open the heavy doors of the entrance of the hotel. It is shocking that there was no bellboy. The hotel feels very deserted and lonely. There is no life in the hotel. In addition, the service of the hotel was very bad. For instance, the room service would charge a staggering amount of RM 9.00 for a cup of hot Milo. That is twice the price of the cost of hot Milo sold in an expensive country like Singapore. Moreover, the breakfast and lunch buffets at Bayview Hotel were not really great. The buffets lack variety of food and served the same food every single day. In terms of connectivity, it was the worst. You have to pay to get the horribly slow WIFI username and password. In conclusion, I did not really find the hotel experience exciting at all and it was one of the most boring hotels I had experienced in my life.
The hotel is conveniently located, but the non smoking rooms also smelt of cigarette smoke which was very unpleasant. They have breakfast for all guest and wifi. They also have a pool and gym which is pretty well equipped.
Requested for a double bed but ended with 2 single beds. No floor towels or hand towels supplied in the bathroom. Had to request for them. We have stayed in Bayview Georgetown, Bayview batu ferringhi, Bayview langkawi and Bayview Melbourne. This hotel is the worst. It is our first time here and you can be rest assured, it will be our last. We normally stay at Ramada hotel in Malacca but decided to give this hotel a try as we had good experiences at the other Bayview hotels. Big mistake. If you ask me, I will rate this hotel zero star.
The room is cosy, comfortable and clean. Location wise, perfect. Not too near to the town centre and yet not too far. Just 15 minutes walking distance. With a working gym and pools. When I was there, the sauna was out of order. I really hope the management will get it in order, soon. Breakfast choices were limited to local Malaysian breakfast (nasi lemak, mee goreng and porridge with condiments, of that sort) and western breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans, normal food). And for Muslims friends, no worries. The hotel does not serves pork. All in all, it was a good experience for me.
