The first and only gyro tower in Malaysia, this structure measuring 110 meters in height offers the visitors to have a 360 degree panoramic view of the Melaka/Malacca town. The tower is named after the Taming Sari keris, a mythical weapon said to possess mystical powers belonging to the legendary Malay warrior, Hang Tuah.

Even the structure’s design follows the shape of the keris, with the peak of the tower resembling the its hilt. Once it reaches the top, a breathtaking, sprawling view of Malacca as far as the eye can see, up to the Straits of Malacca, is clearly visible, especially in good weather, with the Melaka/Malacca River running through the grand panorama below.

Melaka Taming Sari, Melaka Reviews - Write a Review

  • I was been there a day with students. We were very excited when enter the tower. We can see the view of Malacca Straits and the town. You can take a picture there. So much peacefulness. I love it.

  • Foreigner have to pay RM23. At first seems like a rip-off, but once it starts and you can see clear view of city, seems like good value for money. You can also have good orientation of the old town and tourist attraction. Good to do it at the beginning of your trip, so you know where to go and what to see. Update: went there second time with my family. Suddenly the power was off and for almost 2 minutes we were hanging with no power and no aircon. Not sure how often this happen, but make sure you are aware of this risk before you hop in.

  • The experience up there was good, would have been better if the guide translated in English for non Malay speaking individuals. The entire lift to decent took less that 10 minutes, or at least it fell that way. I however like that you were allowed to take a pram with you, since our son was asleep and this enabled us experience it without having to wake up and irritate the kid....

  • Provide nice view of Malacca. Got to see The Strait of Malacca. Beautiful view especially at night.

  • Ticket prices can range between RM25 and above. The view is simply amazing though. I've heard that going up there during at night is beautiful due to the night lights :)
