About Block Arcade, Melbourne
This is yet another historical shopping centre in Melbourne’s central business district. During its early days, in the late eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century, the block was notorious for its drug and prostitution rings. Today however, it’s a lovely block filled with quaint little boutiques and shops. It lights up wonderfully at Christmas. Visitors say that the best way to get through the arcade is a little bit every day: walk in, shop, eat, repeat tomorrow with different shops an different restaurants. Make sure to check out the pretty mosaic tiling and the Hopetoun Tea Rooms, the chocolates and the coffee. It’s pure Victorian delight.

Block Arcade, Melbourne Reviews
Love this arcade! Even if I never buy anything there as it's all very expensive. I never miss the opportunity to walk it through every time I am in the city. It's really beautiful and super well maintained!
This is a beautiful old arcade. She's in wonderful condition and maintained to perfection. Don't rush through some of the shop's in this arcade are fantastic. Great gift ideas and some different things to buy. The herbs shop is a wonder, plus make sure you make time for tea.
I come in here quite often just to have a little potter around and have a look at what the shops have to offer. There are some beautiful little boutique stores some of which also offer hand made goods which is always nice compared to all the high street stores. The cafes are lovely and the chocolate store in there is to die for. I would highly recommend popping in for a visit and spending some money in the locally owned stores.
Great to wonder through, though rather small. Some high end shop and a tea house, as well as some cafes outside. Oh, art of Dr Seuss shop as well.
Melbourne icon. Pretty great site to see and a part of Melbourne history. Haigh's chocolate shop is a must go to - the best.
