Block Arcade - Review
This is yet another historical shopping centre in Melbourne’s central business district. During its early days, in the late eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century, the block was notorious for its drug and prostitution rings. Today however, it’s a lovely block filled with quaint little boutiques and shops. It lights up wonderfully at Christmas. Visitors say that the best way to get through the arcade is a little bit every day: walk in, shop, eat, repeat tomorrow with different shops an different restaurants. Make sure to check out the pretty mosaic tiling and the Hopetoun Tea Rooms, the chocolates and the coffee. It’s pure Victorian delight. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Melbourne Itinerary 6 Days.

Block Arcade, Melbourne Reviews
Such a beautiful arcade. From the mosaic floors to the domed ceiling and the wonderful shops selling everything from chocolates to beautiful art glass this arcade is a must see. Unfortunately the wonderful toy shop that was there for so many years has closed.
Its always a pleasure shopping and walking through here. Such stunning architecture with beautiful mosaic floors. It's also full of historical charms and wonderful quality shops. Highly recommended for a unique shopping experience.
Dinkum Pies have deteriorated since i was there a few years ago. On a cold winter's day you struggled to get in and get served. Today, 22/5 no one was there and had a pie and pastie. They weren't the same and had to buy lunch elsewhere to fill up. No wonder there wasn't anyone there. There was hardly any filling in them. I won't be going back.
A piece of old Melbourne history. Amazing architecture from yesteryear. Highly sought after shops with cakes, chocolate , alleyway cafes & restaurants plus heaps more. A must visit in the heart of city's cbd shopping district.
I never miss the opportunity to walk it through every time I am in the city. It has great architecture and atmosphere. I also love the beautiful little boutique stores and cafes. It's just great to wonder through.
