This is yet another historical shopping centre in Melbourne’s central business district. During its early days, in the late eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century, the block was notorious for its drug and prostitution rings. Today however, it’s a lovely block filled with quaint little boutiques and shops. It lights up wonderfully at Christmas. Visitors say that the best way to get through the arcade is a little bit every day: walk in, shop, eat, repeat tomorrow with different shops an different restaurants. Make sure to check out the pretty mosaic tiling and the Hopetoun Tea Rooms, the chocolates and the coffee. It’s pure Victorian delight. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Melbourne Itinerary 6 Days.

Beautiful, old arcade in the heart of Melbourne. Well worth a trip even just to appreciate the architecture and beautiful mosaics. It's also full of charming and unique boutiques and shops. Would be an excellent spot for some Christmas shopping!
Lovely old world arcade.. One of the original shopping complexes in Melbourne for the upper class. Boutique retail and gorgeous mosaics are the go these days.
In the heart of a Melbourne CBD the Block Arcade is an ornate boutique shopping destination. A great spot for tourists to wander through and window shop the various boutiques. Except for the chocolate shop that you must go into, and good luck coming out empty handed.
BRILLIANT PIECE OF MELBOURNE RETAIL AND HISTORY Great place to shop, visit, eat if you are a tourist in town and want to see an old (well restored) arcade in action.
Old style but beautiful. Lots of interesting shops ad cafes
