Block Arcade - Review
This is yet another historical shopping centre in Melbourne’s central business district. During its early days, in the late eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century, the block was notorious for its drug and prostitution rings. Today however, it’s a lovely block filled with quaint little boutiques and shops. It lights up wonderfully at Christmas. Visitors say that the best way to get through the arcade is a little bit every day: walk in, shop, eat, repeat tomorrow with different shops an different restaurants. Make sure to check out the pretty mosaic tiling and the Hopetoun Tea Rooms, the chocolates and the coffee. It’s pure Victorian delight. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Melbourne Itinerary 6 Days.

Visited offices on second floor. Nice atmosphere lovely historical arcade. Sad to shops empty.
It's a good historical area. Lots of specialty shops, including the famous Hoptoun Tea Rooms where you can queue up to get in. Lots of other eating places, too. Worth a visit.
Very well maintained historical building with it's heritage architecture outlook preserved as it was. A must visit place in Melbourne!
Such a beautiful arcade. From the mosaic floors to the domed ceiling and the wonderful shops selling everything from chocolates to beautiful art glass this arcade is a must see. Unfortunately the wonderful toy shop that was there for so many years has closed.
One of the oldest arcades in Melbourne. Worth checking out the intricate mosaic floors and details glass works. Lots of history!
