L C, Melbourne Reviews
Absolutely loved the experience! You get to play 18 holes in the dark, with just glow lights. And prices are reasonable too! I believe it costs around $15 per person. It shouldn't take you more than an hour to complete it, provided there isn't too much of a crowd. Would recommend planning it out with a visit to the Melbourne star, if it's your first time, as Docklands is a little out of the way.
Reasonably challenging for adults, very nice touch with balls, club's that glow in the dark. A few of the holes have a nice added touch were you spin a wheel to change the complexity of the rules. The last hole is a bit of a bummer as it's almost impossible to achieve any score apart from a hole in one.
Good for a bit of fun but compared to the mini golf of old, this pales in comparison. Nothing flashy about this place and seems rather cramped between holes so you do feel as if others are waiting for you to hurry and and finish. It's almost as if the people who designed it thought that some neon spray paint that glows in the dark would be enough, (it's pretty low budget) but you make the best from it that you can. Plus it's still mini golf and that's always a good thing.
We visited yesterday for our son's birthday. We really found the whole place to be just too dark with not nearly enough "glow" to allow for a good game. The games were very cramped together. Ideally, the tee off mats should have glow and be secured to the floor, and the holes should have glow around them. The poor lighting meant my kids struggled to find the routes and holes and lost interest. The adult clubs need glow adding as you couldn't see the direction the club was pointing in when you went to take a shot. It could be far better maintained with much of the paint chipping off. It's a real shame as this could be such a great place, unfortunately we wouldn't be returning customers or recommend this venue as an activity.
The course looks nothing like the photos. Nothing was really glow in the dark. Just Luminescent paint with some black lights on the roof. The rooms are fairly lit up anyway. Nothing spectacular. The golf courses are all very basic. Just straight lanes with an obstacle here and there. Additionally the last room crammed in about 7 lanes???! It was a mess. Balls were flying everywhere into other people's lanes due to props not being stuck down. It was cramped and the space was way to small. It was disappointing.
