  • Newport lakes feels like you about a two hour drive from melbourne. It feels as though you are in the middle of a forest. It has three different levels of walking track. And you can cross the lake over rocks. Good for picnics and gatherings. BBQ just outside of entrance.

  • EXCELLENT COUNTERBALANCE TO THE PETROCHEMICAL -INDUSTRIAL LANDSCAPE NEARBY Newport is home to some very ugly petrochemical plants so its nice to have little parks like this one to provide a bit of greenery and relief from the harsh industrial feel of the suburb

  • Awesome place for a day outing with absolute no nonsense and a lots of bird watching for the younger ones the place is about 20 mins walk from spotswood station and and is a huge area to cover within . The best part if the foot bridge or the stone bridge crossing that gives you an amazing feel and view of the place itself . Perfect for photography as well one can spot many kids of birds here.

  • They've done an excellent job converting the area to parkland. You can walk around the lake and enjoy nature. There's also an off leash area with plenty of space.

  • Great place for a picnic. Toilets, tables, covered area.
