Stalactites Restaurant, Melbourne Reviews - Write a Review
I went to Stalactites at around 4pm, during one of their quieter hours. Service was wonderful and staff were attentive. I ordered the lamb souvlaki with added chips inside. I was surprised to see how generous their serving size was. Taste wasn’t beyond amazing, but I’m glad it wasn’t so salty compared to other places. I would definitely come back here next time I visit Melbourne.
Tiny portions for some dishes, slow service, average tasting food - skip it and find somewhere better. We ordered 6 of the set menu and when it came to saganaki, there was one to share between 6. That's ridiculous given the cost of the set menu. The rest of the dishes weren't much better, although to be fair there was enough meat later on, but by that stage (2 hours after walking in), it didn't really matter. Unfortunately the main reason you go to a restaurant is for great tasting food, but this place doesn't achieve that. Give it a miss and go somewhere else.
Fresh ingredients, big portion for the meat, well seasoning, fragrant and full of flavor! The ambience was also nice, especially in the midnight. However the dish presentation should’ve been improved further, nothing like what we saw on the website not sure why.
Not as authentic as expected and much better value Slouvaki elsewhere. However, it was a healthy sized portion and the gyros was tender and tasty. Service was also speedy and attentive.
One of the few 24 hrs eateries in CBD. Doesn't matter what tine, they always packed, prices are reasonable, always find them good but my last visit we found the food was very salty and oily. Otherwise everything was normal. They add $2 donation automatically for some charities I assume but there is no receipt from registered organisations. Also they don't split bills, so if you going with work mates make sure you are sorted.
