  • Very old school hotel, interesting heritage sort of experience. Hotel guests were mainly old couples and big families so we felt very young for the place. Rooms are old and not very sound proof, so you can hear neighbours or people walking along corridors. Amenities, hot water, WiFi, air conditioning (heating) all worked well. Service was good, and there was a nice pillow menu. Location is great, walking distance to Melbourne museum and 1-2min walk to 2 tram stops within the free tram zone, which can bring you around Melbourne city and the river easily.

  • Stayed in September. Was so impressed by the hotel and in particular the service. Each and every member of staff were very caring and passionate about the hotel and proud of the property. The place is very traditional and charming and the team really went the extra mile to ensure the stay was perfect!

  • I went for the Mother's Day high tea. The venue is very much a heritage building, beautiful! The champagne was not to my taste and there is a big focus on sweets. If you've got a sweet tooth you will love it because there is an endless supply! To get a cappuccino was a bit of a hassel but a very busy day so that's okay. A small selection of teas were available but nothing out of the ordinary.

  • The location of the Windsor is perfect, easily accessible by car but able to walk and catch trains, sightsee easily from the hotel. It has old school charm and we have stayed there many times. Unfortunately on this occasion there was an art exhibition in rooms scattered through the hotel, which made the stay very impersonal. We were also situated underneath a room with kids who were running backwards and forwards, screaming. Very noisy! The bathroom needed some maintenance and the towels definitely need replacing. Slightly disappointing considering the price paid for the room.

  • In an old world ambiance, this boutique tea place brings you to a classical era. For the tea set including a glass of complimentary champagne or sparkling, you pay the price of having a luxurious experience. The food, however, is somewhat lackluster, the sweet pastries taste better than the savory ones. The scones are excellent. The tea selection is superb and I recommend the Windsor blend. The service is impeccable. If you have time in Melbourne and want a bit of classical elegance, do drop by this place and travel back in time.
