The city of Memphis has a story with disaster and triumph.  Memphis 101 is a one hour tour and a great way to learn about how Memphis evolved since the early 1800's.  From it's thriving cotton industry to an epidemic that almost wiped it off the map.  You'll see churches that have been standing for centuries, historic homes where high society once dwelled, the city's oldest theater, the park where a music genre was born and the hotel balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in 1968 and much more.  Yes, Memphis is known for its musical roots.  But its the city's fascinating past that inspired that unique Memphis sound.

  • The first room smelled like old fish grease. We were moved to another room (Ms. Carrie was very nice in accommodating our request to relocate)... Then the second room had cigarette ashes on the bathroom sink/counter as well as the toilet. The tub was old and mildew stained. The couch had a glossy-sticky substance that was dried on the seat cushions. We were afraid to stay the night... clutching ourselves in fear and despair we booked another room .7 miles away in another hotel. The front desk clerk did not know how to refund my money and informed me that I had to contact the assistant manager in the morning. Help us Lord. After a six hour drive we are finally at peace in another hotel without unbearable smells, unhealthy mildew or glossy stains! This location is permanently off the list for my family.

  • Found bugs under sheets crawling around similar to bed bugs. Front desk gave us another room just to find more bugs underneath those sheets as well. There is definitely some type of infestation.

  • Overall fairly clean. Air conditioning not cold, had to borrow fan from front desk. Remote for TV didn't work properly had to work with it to change channels. Nice to have the small kitchenette in room.

  • I hate to say it was literally the worst hotel I have stayed in but .....it was the worst since I stayed at one of the national parks "hotel" they have. Huge trashcan in the side lobby my entire visit to catch the leak from the ceiling. Room had to be 90 degrees or better when I checked in. Took 8 or 10 hours to cool it. Not a single glass, fork or anything in the kitchenette. The free "Breakfast on the Go" was coffee, hot water. Oatmeal packs. No joke. This could happen anywhere but drunk guy was stumbling around both nights and he was a resident. Last thing. The bed felt like I was literally sleeping in a box spring! I put that on everything. Had I been paying for it I would have checked out and found another room. It was provided for my short stay, no knock on the provider. It's hard to know from the photos, so I'll tell you. Don't stay here if you can drive 5 mins in any direction and spend another 10 bucks. I will say the the young lady ast tged desk was top notch. Think her name was Charity or another name that made me think it was biblical. She was was the the most pleasant aspect to my visit.

  • Honestly, this is the best Extended Stay Hotel I have ever stayed in - - including other extended stay Hotel chains. The rooms are clean, in good shape, and quiet. The overall feel of the place is super pleasant. The staff: They are friendly, incredibly helpful, and professional at the same time. This is a very safe and groomed area of Memphis (on edge of Germantown), and it's just a pleasure to be staying here long term.
