The Peabody is a very interesting place! The hotel itself is beautiful, the ducks are adorable, and the drinks and food were amazing. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of local places we could visit for the time we were there. The only complaint I have is that the bed was incredibly firm. It felt like I was sleeping on a rock. I did not sleep well at all, (I woke up constantly), and my husband and I both woke up sore.
It was a wonderful place to stay. Very quiet, close to many things in town. Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star: I did find bed bugs in my bed, and brought it to managements attention. They quickly addressed the issue and upgraded my room and it was completely clean. I appreciated managements quick actions, however, if you stay here I caution you to check your mattress and sheets before you get too comfortable.
I can think of any superlatives to top all the wonderful reviews of the Hotel. Arrived when they had not cleaned all the rooms, but the ducks did a good job of offsetting our delay. Dog friendly, but they do charge. Everyone was nice. Hopefully the city can get adjacent areas torn down or renovated. Still a great time
Staying for the weekend, it's the Peabody you'd expect. I made reservations for afternoon tea and while it's not the same experience as the Empress in Victoria Islanders, BC it's a good experience. The smoked salmon and pistachio cake were our favorites. That and watching kids at other tables eyes widen with delight. Don't worry too much about the dress code, we dressed up, but other guests were casual. Maybe don't take that too the extreme of ratty jeans and a muscle shirt, but we really fretted on being under dressed.
There was apparently a mixup with my telephone reservation and when I arrived for my wedding night I was told I had booked the room for the the previous night! The front desk gave me NO HASSLE. Incredible service. I was actually upgraded to a beautiful suite at no extra cost. I will be forever grateful.
