The city of Memphis has a story with disaster and triumph.  Memphis 101 is a one hour tour and a great way to learn about how Memphis evolved since the early 1800's.  From it's thriving cotton industry to an epidemic that almost wiped it off the map.  You'll see churches that have been standing for centuries, historic homes where high society once dwelled, the city's oldest theater, the park where a music genre was born and the hotel balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in 1968 and much more.  Yes, Memphis is known for its musical roots.  But its the city's fascinating past that inspired that unique Memphis sound.

  • Pretty cool hotel. The best thing is that it has a central fountain here that has real Ducks they are treated like royal guest. They are walked in everyday to the fountain. The hotel is also beautiful from the inside. Very unique and special make it something to see if you got some time to spare in Memphis.

  • We stopped in for a Saturday afternoon drink. The hotel lobby is very elegant with lots glass and wood detailing. The main attraction is the large marble fountain with 5 live ducks swimming in it. The ducks can be quite feisty and are wonderful entertainment while sitting at the bar or in the lobby area for a drink. There was a good selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks and the bartenders were very friendly. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

  • Didn't stay here, but walked with historic building, and enjoyed the fantastic views from the rooftop. Very peaceful and relaxing. The local streets were questionable with bars on some of the stores. Though downtown Memphis isn't known for it's low crime, great place to raise a family rate and A+ schools.

  • We went to see the ducks. We're from out of state and thought our kids would enjoy it. We got there just before it was time, so there was a big crowd already. When an employee saw us at the back with our kids he approached us and directed us where we could take the kids for a front row seat. Very nice, accommodating staff. Great experience!

  • Took the family by to see the famous Peabody Ducks! It's a great event that happens twice a day in the main lobby. The area is packed with guests and tourists so get there early to grab a great spot. Kids can sit next to the red carpet which is a nice gesture from the hotel. It's a beautiful hotel and next time we're in Memphis, we might book a room.
