Burg Rutenau was an old castle located next to the highway in Emstek. Now only ruins remain of this once glorious mansion. A few earth walls and some dry subterranean ditches, is all that remains of the castle today. When the A29 road was being constructed, most of the castle was destroyed.

However the location of the remains is quite scenic, as it is surrounded by thick greenery. The scenic spot is ideal for photo shoots, and adds a rustic charm to you pictures.
