Located at the centre of the town, the The Regional Museum of Prehistory is a star attraction in Menton. The museum showcases the discoveries from caves around Nice. Sitting peacefully at top of Rue Loredan-Larchey, you can feel the dampness of caves of Vallonet, Lazaret and Grimaldi, Mercantour and the Terra Amata here.

It was built in 1907 by a local architect Adrien Rey who brought the prehistoric artefacts discovered from excavations of Alpes-Maritimes here. Casting of Menton Man is a permanent exhibit in the museum, while the original graces the Museum of Man in Paris.
