The Chapin Mesa Archaeological Museum has a collection of archaeological artefacts including prehistoric objects and dioramas that portray the life of the ancestral Puebloan people. The chronologically arranged exhibits that portray the Puebloan culture are the highlights of the place while the short orientation movie showcases the history of Mesa Verde. The auditorium where the movie is showcased itself is a beautifully design with logs used as ceiling, tin chandeliers, Native–American murals and a carved balcony. You can see a variety of baskets, poetry pieces, tools and beautiful weavings that were done by the residents of the cliff dwellings.

Located in the national park itself, the museum has a few places from where you can see the third largest cliff-dwelling in the park called the Spruce Tree House. The place also has a small snack bar and a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. The museum building itself is quiet unique and was built in 1930’s with a solid stone construction using native stones with plastered interiors.

Admission to the museum is free of cost.
