Running along the city is a canal that connects Metz to the town of Theonville. It is just a section of the Mozelleriver and is called CAMIFEMO by a majority of people, which is an acronym for- Canal des Mines de Fer de la Moselle. The length of this canal is about 30 kms and it has 4 locks. The construction of it dates back to early 1930s. Highlights include:
