La Guapachosa, Mexico City Reviews
Very friendly service, fantastic selection of food, cool place. It's great that they run their own farm and run their business in a sustainable way.
Tasty lunch! Didn’t wait long for my food. Restaurant had a nice ambience, very cozy. Waiter was nice and spoke good English.
I've been to Mexico City more than 10 times and this place easily wins the prize for worst service ever. To begin, I had to order the beer sampler five - yes that's 5 - times to get it. They forgot my date's order, had to reorder. They tried to clear my plate when I wasn't even halfway done, but ignored empty cups and plates that actually should have been cleared. I ordered a margarita which not only never arrived, but somehow managed to make its way onto the bill. To top it all off, the waiter even made a creepy comment loosely directed at my date. (Apparently 'they accept blondes as a form of payment'. Charming.) It's worth bearing in mind that this is not a big place. There were two waiters for anywhere from 10-20 guests. They were not - as one of the waiters tried to excuse his bad service - 'very busy'. The sad part is that everything else about the place works well. The food is great, the ambiance is cool (solid soundtrack) and it's a good value for the money. An exception is the much-ordered beer, which I found watery. Message to management: Get new waiters! You have a restaurant that could be great but you're losing money and customers by having horrible service.
I'd love to tell you how good the food was but unfortunately this is a typical restaurant that's more concerned about it's reviews and social network status rather than providing a true service. Sat down, ordered, friend's food arrived, mine was no where to be found. 30 mins later got up and left. I'm sure the owner will respond to this review much as the other reviews but may I suggest: turn off your computer and focus on your restaurant.
Excellent place to enjoy Mexican gourmet food and artisanal beers.
