The Angel Of Independence, Mexico City Reviews
Angel of Independence is the iconic structure in Mexico city and one of the most beautiful place. The whole boulevard and stretch has beautiful buildings, clean footpaths and quite a hustle bustle around. You can spend hours here watching people. On a weekend almost every minute there is a limousine landing here to celebrate quinceañera where girls turning 15 dressed in beautiful gowns come here with family and friends to celebrate and have photo sessions. As a foreigner you will find it quite fascinating. Beautiful tradition followed at a beautiful iconic monument.
Me gustó muchísimo. Es muy hermoso el lugar. En algún blog leí que en realidad no es un ángel sino una Victoriana o algo similar. No recuerdo. Me hubiese encantado subir al mirador que hay en el monumento. Sin embargo, no pude coordinar esa actividad desde antes de hacer mi viaje. Fabuloso lugar.
Just one the of the better to go lose yourself, you get to see an awesome view of the Castillo de Chapultepec and also one of the nicest sunsets. If you get some permission you can go on top and see the city from there, next to the winged victory. Some of the independence heroes lay there.
Only walked through the area on a Sunday. Roads were closed to traffic to allow cyclist and runners to enjoy the street. Took these videos of people doing a dance class. The atmosphere was amazing. Lots of dog walkers as well as the cyclists
this monument in the Reforma neighborhood is another must see in Mexico City - it is located on one of the main thoroughfares and connect to other monuments on it's route - the Angel is considered on the the most important - in honor of Mexico independence from Spain. The monument is visitor friendly and safe to spend time visiting - the tricky part is getting from the sidewalk to the monument as there are no set crossings and you will have e to wait for the break in traffic to make your move. Photo ops galore and a beautiful memory to capture for sure.
