Zoo Miami - Review

The oldest and only tropical zoo in the USA kicked off in 1948 with the purchase of three monkeys, a goat, and to black bears. The zoo continued to slowly acquire animals, and despite a umber of setbacks that included two devastating hurricanes, it became one of the most prominent zoo’s in the country. The exhibits include a wide range of animals from four continents; the Indian Rhinoceros, a white Bengal Tiger, Giraffes, Kangaroos etc. The Aviary is famous for over three hundred specimens of exotic birds spread over more than seventy species. Miami Zoo is one of the attractions in 4 Days Itinerary Miami. Must visit this awesome attraction.

Zoo Miami, Miami Reviews

  • There is a rumor you can see animals here, we were not so lucky. The design of the enclosures are beautiful, but have too many areas to hide for the animals. I realize they do this for a more authentic feel and so the animals can hide but it really takes away from the experience when you don't get to see some of your favorites. We upgraded to a fun in the sun but only took the tram once and rode the boat ride because we paid for it. The feeding experience and single tram ride would have been less expensive than the upgrade. We will go back at some point when the weather is cooler and the animals are more out and about. Will not upgrade tickets next time.

  • I love this Zoo. The variety of animals to view is impressive. Staff is super friendly and very informative. They have a little train that goes around the zoo for easy transportation, we enjoy that a lot. Everywhere you go is clean including the bathrooms. Definitely recommend this Zoo over all the other ones. Come ready to spend the full day this Zoo is huge.

  • I visited here in August. It was hot, but there are fortunately a lot of air conditioned buildings to break up the heat. They have a couple of cute eateries throughout the zoo, and several serve beer. The admission price is what you'd expect from a large zoo - it's not cheap, but it's worth it. There is so much to see here that it would honestly take more than a single day to see it all. I recommend buying a refillable soda cup at the beginning of your day.

  • I love this place. It's absolutely worth it to get the year pass if you live here. There is so much to do, you can come back every week! I also highly highly recommend a bike rental.....the place is huge and it's much more enjoyable to get around.

  • We were kept cool by misters all over the walkway. We paid to feed the birds, wish we had the opportunity to feed the giraffes. Didn't know they have a splash pad for the kids. The pictures we took at the entrance were so awesome, we had to buy. We brought the kids for the first time since I was a kid. Love the zoo.
