The oldest and only tropical zoo in the USA kicked off in 1948 with the purchase of three monkeys, a goat, and to black bears. The zoo continued to slowly acquire animals, and despite a umber of setbacks that included two devastating hurricanes, it became one of the most prominent zoo’s in the country. The exhibits include a wide range of animals from four continents; the Indian Rhinoceros, a white Bengal Tiger, Giraffes, Kangaroos etc. The Aviary is famous for over three hundred specimens of exotic birds spread over more than seventy species. Miami Zoo is one of the attractions in 4 Days Itinerary Miami. Must visit this awesome attraction.

  • Fantastic zoo & I've been to many around the country. Flows perfectly so you don't miss anything. They seem to focus on the experience A LOT. I didn't see many areas selling things. Seemed to really want you to enjoy the animals. Very very happy I decided to come before leaving town!

  • Amazing zoo! Highly recommend getting the family bikes if you have small kids as there’s a lot of ground to cover. We were lucky to experience the tiger, bear and sea otter feedings. Loved seeing all the African animals! Nourish was a nice place to grab lunch. Great day!!

  • If you come, expect to spend a few hours here. Huge zoo and a lot of walking. They have bikes which you can rent;first time I've seen that in a zoo. The animals were beautiful. They had a very spacious environment for them to roam. Feeding the giraffe was definitely a nice experience. All the employees we encountered were friendly and attentive.

  • My family loves this zoo! We have been annual pass holders for two years and couldn't be happier. We love getting the emails and knowing what is going on or coming up. My two young sons always have a good time and love visiting the animals. It just doesn't get old.

  • Not worth the visit! Trees are all over grown, can’t see anything from the tram 🚈 about which cost $5 per person, did a lot of walking took for ever to get to animals and everything cost inside this place! I hope that money is going towards the animal 🤔 I did notice they’re doing some construction 🚧 so maybe in the future it will be better. Oh we did enjoy feeding the birds
