The New Little Belt Bridge over the Little Belt Strait acts as the connection between Funen and Jutland i.e. the mainland and the third largest island of the country. This suspension Bridge has six lanes and runs 1700 metres. It was constructed in between 1965 to 1970 and was opened for public in 21st October in 1970. The New Little Belt Bridge acts efficiently to alleviate the congestion of the Old Little Belt Bridge with its motorway constructed on E20 and the three laned carriageways. In order to keep the bridge free of snow and ice during winter, the bridge has heating feature in the road deck. The bridge looks magnificent in the evening with the illumination that reflects on the water.
